I’m a visual artist specializing in textile painting and graphic design. My work explores the varying relationships between popular culture and fine art. While I use a variety of material and processes in each project, my methodology is consistent. My artworks range from bold, vibrant paintings and exquisite graphic design on clothing, handbags and other fashion accessories.
I started experimenting with fabrics many years ago by silk-screening T-shirts and scarves with my designs, practising with fabric painting for years until I figured out how to get the look I wanted. I used a variety of techniques with hand-painting. I've also used silk screen, block printing and tie-and-dye or combinations of all three to get a look.
Furthermore, my artwork explores the rhythmic relationship between colours in my fabrications. I have always been fascinated by the ability of certain colours and items on clothing to change moods or express emotions. Growing up, I enjoyed experimenting with various styles to create my own unique look, but during my study of art and design I developed a real passion for painting on different textures, materials and creating new designs and considered making a career out of my creative skills.
